Halloween 2012

Happy Halloween! 

The kids this year carved pumpkins without much help from Dad or mom! They all designed, cleaned out and cut out their pumpkins without too much complaints of the cold pumpkin guts :)

 Dawson and Kortney liked separating the seeds and guts in hope I will roast the seeds. Every year the idea of eating the seeds seems good, but with all the treats and candy the seeds never taste as good as they thought they should.

Dan and Travis weren't into carving pumpkins. Instead they looked over hunting books and talked about the hunting course Travis just took.

 

 

 

 

 

After finally getting all the cold pumpkin guts out (which she didn't like) She decided to punch holes all over her pumpkin instead of making a face.

Once Dawson finally figured out what he wanting to carve in his pumpkin he had fun getting it just right.

Once Kortney started carving she didn't want to stop! She kept adding pieces from Kaitlin's pumpkin to her own using tooth picks to attach them!

A Double Party!

 Kaitlin's birthday this year came and went without much time for a party with her friends. Avery, one of her best friends has her birthday a couple weeks after Kaitlin. They decided to have their party together which worked out perfect!!

Kaitlin has been spending a lot of time watching Cake Boss and Cupcake Wars on TV lately. For her birthday she really wanted everyone to decorate their own cake. Not as easy as it looks on TV, but they all had fun anyway!

 And of course they spend the rest of the day swimming and having fun in Whyte's pond!

A Day Away

 We didn't get away from the farm long, but we managed to get to Lion's Head and enjoy some time on the beach and at Grandma B's.

The water was COLD, but Dawson managed to get Dan in for a bit!

On our walk along the docks we saw two families of ducks we had to stop and watch for a while :)

 Roasting marshmallows at the campfire.....The kids couldn't wait for coals and had to roast them while the fire was strong.

 Even got a picture of Travis and me!!

Looks like another painting, but nope! We worked on a puzzle on the porch and got it done before we had to leave.

Canada Day 2012

 Every year friends of ours have a Canada Day party which we have yet to get to. This year we were home and the weather was perfect for drinks, games and fireworks!
