Our orphaned kittens
On the farm this spring we ended up with two litters of kittens. A litter of two and a couple weeks later a litter of four. Things were going good and all the kittens have been healthy and strong. Well Sat morning Dan came home from milking with bad news. The mother of the four kittens got hit on the road. The kittens are about four weeks old, so we really had no choice but to start feeding them. Luckily we had some leftover lamb replacer that I have been mixing up which they are drinking up. The kids are of course loving this! The kittens in a short time have become very friendly and come to us when we go into the shed.

Kaitlin, Cassie and Kortney.
This one which is one of the slightly older ones had a great time playing in this spot!
All six kittens.

Dixie of course has that mothering instinct and loves licking the kittens and watching them.

I have to say Kortney is LOVING the kittens. (a little too much!) Today she came to the house carrying four of them all at once!
And she has to share her beloved blanket with them!
Dixie.....the best dog!
Here is one of the adult males and a kitten.
Yes and Dawson loves snuggling with "his" kitten.

Bingemans Class Trip
Travis
While these aren't great pictures, I had to share what Travis does on a day he's board! Today out of the blue while I was busy outside Travis was inside coming up with one of his experiments. He found some old film canisters, filled the bottom half with vinegar, carefully placed some kleenex then some baking powder. He would then carefully bring these outside shake and throw them, which of course would cause a small explosion. Kaitlin helped him and the two of them kept busy for quite a while making these 'bombs' and trying to throw them without getting wet!

I'm only hoping he can keep himself busy this summer too!
June 13
We managed to squeeze in a ride today before the rain came. First Dan, Travis and Kaitlin rode the horses across the farm to the barn and back. Travis and Kaitlin are doing great this year at riding and can get on and go without any help! While Dawson and Kortney waited for their turns Dawson was happy to kick a ball and play. Kortney's kicking was short lived and soon was off playing with the kittens.
