Dirty Dancing

Tammy and I still on cloud nine!
Some of the group we could find for a quick picture before the bus left for home!

Yesterday was an awesome day! A friend of mine planned a bus trip to Toronto to see Dirty Dancing, the Theater version of my favourite movie!! There were 19 of us that left on the bus yesterday afternoon. Once we got to T.O we wandered down town, froze our buts of then decided to kill time in Chapters before our dinner reservations.

For dinner we went to an Italian restaurant called Alice Fazoolis. Nice, but expensive (we were downtown T.O) The food was great, I wasn't so sure when the only thing on the menu that I could eat was rainbow trout......I'm not fish lover, but it was really good. The martini before supper wasn't as good-a caramel apple martini, good but very tart. For desert, which I usually never get in a restaurant I chose raspberry sherbet. Normally something like this is extremely sweet and artificial. Well this was amazing! It tasted like perfect blended frozen raspberries. It was a nice surprise. After a 2hr supper and a lot of alchol drank at our table :), we walked to the Royal Alexandera Theater. The theatre itself was beautiful...but we were all pumped to see the show. There are no words to describe it but amazing! Who would have thought a movie with all the different scenes it has could be done a stage?! Someone had some incredible imagination and talent that told the story just like the movie did. I found out too that we had the second best seats in the place so ya.......amazing doesn't explain it. It's one of those times you wish everyone you know could have seen it for themselves to understand. I was sooo glad to be able to go. And how did I do this? My wonderful husband took the afternoon off so I could go. The day was great, something I'll remember always!!

You've got to be kidding kind of day

Sorry not a great picture! Dan had the dryer back together before I thought about my camera.
Well it finally happened. The flu I have been hearing about for the past month visited our house. Last week Kortney was sick on and off. Nothing major she'd be sick and carry on about her day. Friday afternoon just before leaving for a hair apt the school phoned to tell me Dawson had gotten sick at school. I knew this wasn't going to be good because Travis and Kaitlin were both having friends come home off the bus for a sleepover. So I quick cancelled my apt, went to get Dawson and came back to phone mom's to phone the school so their kids went home. Travis and Kaitlin came home very mad and accusing Dawson of faking. Well poor Dawson has never been so sick in his life! I'll bear you the details, but he was very sick until bedtime. So my day wasn't going quite as planned - no big deal- until I went to do some laundry (Dawson went through quite a few towels while trying to hit the bowl) Well would you believe me if I told you my dryer that worked that morning quit!! No shit, what's the chances. I knew this was going to be a huge problem because with only two kids sick there's still two more to go and lots of laundry that goes along with that. When Dan got home he confirmed that the belt in the dryer had broke. After being on the phone with afew friends sharing my crappy day with them I did have afew friends and a mother in law offer their dryers. I wasn't feeling great myself though. Sat I didn't want to bring this sickness into anyone else's house. Dan's big idea was to string rope in the basement and hang stuff up down there. (gotta love him!) After searching the house he didn't come up with any rope so out and about Sat he went searching for a new dryer belt and rope. I'm thrilled to say we didn't need the rope and my dryer is fixed!! Sad to say that last night the flu bug got Kaitlin. I'm really hoping that Travis misses this and we'll be done with it, but I'm not holding my breath. We'll see what this next week brings.....Every little thing just makes me stronger so I'm trying to go with the flow and carry on with life. I'll keep you posted on how I make out with that :)

Well I'm not having good luck with my camera. At Christmas I either forgot it or the batteries were dead. Today the kids and I just got back from a great walk through the woods, again bring my camera but the batteries were dead....Anyway we did have an amazing walk! Just Dawson, Chloe and I. (the babies are sleeping). Who would have thought there'd be no snow in Jan and we could walk through fields and in the woods. The kids had a blast. They both love to be outside running and playing. It was a nice unexpected treat considering the month we're in. Dawson thought for sure we'd find frogs and if not he was going to wake them up. (we then had a talk about echoes after yelling :)

If feels like Christmas was so long ago now...... We did have a good one. We were able to spend time with both sides of the family and visit with everyone. Even Scott, Debby and baby Andrew were able to come. The kids got spoiled and we all had a nice break from the normal daily life schedules. It is nice to be back to normal now though. Two weeks of busyness were good, but thankgod for back to school! I was a little worried with Kortney yesterday when she was sick twice during the day, but she seems fine today and everyone else is good too.

Well there's really not much else new with us. But I do hope to write again soon, so for those of you who keep reminding me I'm not writing I will!

All for now,
Michelle
