Travis' Grade 8 Graduation

Wes, Kyle, Travis, Chandler and James.
All I can say is time goes by sooo fast. It doesn't feel like 10 years ago that Travis was refusing to go to JK and screaming for me when we dropped him off for his first day! He has grown and slowly changed since then. Especially this past year. He has tried lots of new things, smiled more and has been his happiest in grade 8. As sad as it is to see this stage of his life end, I am excited for him and can't wait to see the man he will become.

Proud parents!
The graduating class of 2012!

The girls looked beautiful all dressed up!
He actually is smiling for the camera!

Receiving his diploma!

Wes and Travis' good friend Nick came to watch them graduate. Next year they will join him at CHSS.

Good times visiting Family Paradise

Kortney jumping in.
The kids and I got to hang out with Cheri, Mike and the girls while they were camping at Family Paradise on the weekend. Of course the pool is always a favourite place to be to show off the swimming, jumping and moves they can do in the water!

Dawson doing a belly flop since the pool is too shallow to practice dives!

Kaitlin and Mackenzie who love to play together.

Alex and Kortney loving the water!
Happy days!

Alex is always there helping Kortney who is a bit more timid in the water.

A cannon ball!

After a bbq, the kids wanted to check out the pond. The girls found yucky mud they had to play in!
They had fun chasing around and catching some water bugs!

Kortney got brave enough to actually catch one.....Apparently they were slimy  :)

Alex was happier to just look at them.
Miss Mackenzie happy to be with the big kids and not going to sleep!

Sitting by the campfire making bracelets!

Kaitlin the bracelet making pro!

Yummy smores!

Aunt Cheri teaching Kortney to make her first bracelet!

3 of my favourite people :)

Getting work done around our 300 acre farm is much more fun with the 4 wheeler! We all use it to check cattle/sheep, check and move fences, check and move water troughs, go up to the barn to dump compost and feed the cats, taking garbage to the burn pile, moving loads with the wagon and just for fun. It's nothing fancy, but it was one of the best things we've bought!
oh, and for finding and picking flowers!

Dance Recital #2

Kaitlin started the dance season last Sept, and today was the last time to dress up and dance until next fall. The girls absolutely love to preform the dances they have worked so hard to learn. I got to be behind the scenes for the first show. There was A LOT of applying makeup, changing, reapplying makeup! They had lots of fun and couldn't wait to go out on stage for their turn to shine!
Kaitlin in the opening dance costume.
Retouching makeup! Between these 6 girls they had a ton of makeup in this little room. I think part of the fun during the recitals is dressing up getting to play with all the different colours of makeup!

 Kaitlin in her "Roses" costume.

 Kaitlin in the "maids" costume.
Getting all the last minute costume adjustments ready. They used a ton of safety pins and bobby pins!!!!
Lizzy, Kaitlin, Candice, Hannah, Fran, Elizabeth
Almost ready!

Another show went smoothly and was great to watch. Every year these girls get better and better. They can't wait for the next season of dance to start again. (they are all hoping to do solos next year!)

Grade 8 trip

Although the school wasn't taking the grade 8's to Canada's Wonderland anymore, the parents planned a day to go anyway.

Missy and the girls waiting for our tickets.

The kids had sooo much fun and most of them went on all the rides (over and over again!)

Wes, Travis, Ryan and Chandler chatting with Sabrina.

Some of the girls by the falls.

The RipTide ride looked like the worst ride ever to me!! (Did I forget to mention I suffer from motion sickness whenever I try to go on a ride :(  The girls however went on this one 3 times in a row!

Aaly, Brooke, Paige, Caitie,and Marykate

Kyle and Chandler thought they'd try on the girls third ride. To my astonishment everyone walked off without headaches or puking!

Meanwhile Travis, Wes and Ryan spit a funnel cake. Yummy!  Wes and Chandler did manage to talk Ryan and Travis both into a couple rides. Travis went on 3 and didn't seem to mind them. Ryan continued with more, but I think 3 was enough for Travis! He gets it honestly!

Hmmmm strawberry sauce :)

Travis was in a great mood for the small part we were together today. He even let me take his picture!!!!!!

Ryan and Wes after riding the Vortex for the 7th time! This was Ryan's favourite!
All the grade 8's but 2.

Everyone had an awesome day together. We left at 7:30am and got home near 11:30pm. It was a very long day full of laughs, fun and great memories with friends!
